Basic Engineering :
Performing basic engineering refers to three types of activities:
- Preparing Basic Design Package (BDP)
- Receiving Process Design Package(PDP) from Client/Licensor and preparing the Basic Design Package (BDP)
- Implementing Changes to the existing Basic Design Package (BDP)Feed , Site Conditions, Plant’s capacity, Turn Down Ratio, Process Modifications
HEDCO has the experience and reference of all three types of the activities and uses the proven design techniques to provide the basic design documents:
- Process configuration and Specifications
- Process and utilities Flow Diagrams with energy and mass balance and operating conditions
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
- Process data sheets for mechanical equipment
- Equipment and Piping Schedules
- Instrument Data Sheets
- Catalyst, Chemicals Specifications
- Effluent Specifications
- Preliminary Plot Plans
- Operating Instructions
Detail Engineering :
During detail engineering, the design of the project in most applicable technical details will be performed by respective departments, so that the plant can be safely installed at site without any technical difficulty and with cost- effective construction.
After basic engineering, the subsequent stage of detail design and engineering of the project is performed and the following topics are taken care by the technical departments based on project’s economy, time schedule and specifications:
- Safety considerations (explosion risks, unit performance risks for personnel, equipment and unit production, etc.)
- Constructability
- Technology updates
- Materials Selection and Lifespan considerations for equipment and systems (corrosiveness, stress relief, etc.)
- Convenience considerations for operation personnel
- Considerations of space limitations , placement of line crossings and equipment deployment on the site
- Considerations for accessibility of lines and equipment
- Price and cost considerations
